How Sloths Swim
Are children allowed to attend?
No. These events are 21+ but we do have other ways for children to meet our sloths! We offer sloth encounters after our Kangaroo Yoga classes and during our Family Fun Day events!
- Aug 09, 2017 They might look awkward doing it, but sloths are actually pretty good swimmers. They are often observed swimming with ease across rivers in their native Central and South America. If seen paddling.
- However, living in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, sloths NEED to be adept swimmers. Water levels frequently rise and flooding can occur, which means swimming is a basic survival skill. Still, it’s odd that sloths are more skilled swimmers than they are climbers.

Are pets allowed?
No. We ask that you don’t bring your pet to the event with you. Sloths are solitary animals and do not like being around pets. Also, as the weather shifts to cooler temperatures we will be having these events indoors.
Sloths are really quite majestic creatures. They are well-known for their snail-pace, but that all changes when they hit the surf, as they can swim up to three times faster than they can move when on dry land. Sloths can swim three times faster than they can walk on land. And because of their ability to slow their heart rates to one-third its normal rate, they can also hold their breath for a whopping.
Why can’t I buy tickets for a certain day?
If there is no option to purchase tickets for a date, that date has sold out. You can try one of our other dates or keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for future events!
Can I buy part of a table?
No. Each location has limited tables available and in order to keep everybody safe and to comply with Covid-19 rules we can not sell tables to more than one group. You can purchase a larger table and bring less people, but you will still pay the full price for that table.
I bought a table and am now unable to attend the event. What do I do?
Because this is an event that requires pre registration and has limited space, we typically do not issue refunds or credits. If you purchased tickets and are unable to attend the event you can post on our facebook page to see if anybody else would like to buy the tickets from you. We can then transfer the tickets to the new registrant.
Where is the event located?
Our Sippin’ with Sloths events are NOT held at our Delaware facility. We partner with local wineries in Maryland and Delaware. Check our calendar and your tickets to see where we will be at throughout the month!
Can I touch the sloths?
No. Sloths are solitary animals and touch stresses them out. You are able to hold one of our youngest sloths in a basket and hand feed our older sloths a snack.
Is the event rain or shine?

Yes. Participants will be indoors or under shelter and we have shelter for our sloths.
